Kennesaw Police Department Begins Annual Holiday Fund

KENNESAW, GA -- This holiday season will mark the 33rd year that the City of Kennesaw Police Department has come together to aid less fortunate families in the Kennesaw/Acworth area.

The annual Jerry Worthan Memorial Christmas Fund is about to begin, and the Kennesaw Police Department is looking for help. Donations of money, food and new toys are always appreciated. In 2009, thanks to the generosity of the community, the KPD was able to help over 51 families, including 131 children.

The dropoff location for toys and food is the Kennesaw City Jail. Monetary donations can be mailed (attn: Officer Scott Luther) or brought to the Kennesaw Police Department (2539 J O Stephenson Avenue NW, Kennesaw, 30144), Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Make all checks payable to the Jerry Worthan Memorial Christmas Fund.

The deadline for donations is Friday, Dec. 17.

For more information, contact Officer Scott Luther with the Kennesaw Police Department at 770-919-0651.
