BEST SPOTS: Inexpensive Dates | Arts & Culture
NORTHWEST METRO – For this week’s installment of Best Spots, we’ve compiled a list of Inexpensive Date Spots for you to take your special someone.
In today’s economy, it’s important to find companionship which, in our opinion, is the cheapest form of entertainment. However, it’s the springtime, and people like to get out every now and then. So, check out these suggestions for fun under $15.
If you have an office crush, we have the place for you. Local lunch favorite, Brandi’s World Famous Hot Dogs serves up, according to some, one of the best dogs in town. This humble, hot dog restaurant is known for its Iced Tea and famous Chili Slaw Dog served on a perfectly steamed bun. Everything in this restaurant is under $9. So, both, your date and your pockets will thank you. Brandi’s is located at 1377 Church Street Extension in Marietta.
If you’re into pizza, beer and baseball make your way over to Fabiano’s Pizzera and Tavern. For every purchase of a pitcher of Bud Light or Yuengling, you and your date are entered into a raffle for a chance at two (2) free Atlanta Braves tickets. This restaurant serves pitchers of beer for $7 and Monster slices of New York Style Pizza for $2. And the chance of walking away from an $11 date with two free Braves tickets doesn’t sound bad to us.
If your date is into rock and roll, check out the Battle of the Bands Benefit at the Dallas Theater. The event that will be held on April 29 features local bands, rocking out to fight cancer. Tickets to this event are $10 and can be purchased at the Dallas Theatre box office. All proceeds will be donated to the local chapter of Relay for Life.
If your date is a fan of RBIs and homers, check out a Rome Braves game during their six-game homestand. Tickets range from $4 to $10. Bring a blanket, relax on Home Run Hill and enjoy a game under the stars at State Mutual Stadium. Who knows, you may witness a home run by a MLB superstar in the making.
If your date is the outdoorsy type, take them fishing at Lake Allatoona. Get your fishing rod ready and head down to the lake to catch some in-season species. For information on fish attractor areas, boating rules and nearby marinas, call 678-721-6700.
