Bently drove over a concrete median on Highway 92 near Bells Ferry Road in Acworth. He began going east in the westbound lanes, almost hitting a car with two deputies inside, according to Cherokee County Sheriff's Lt. Jay Baker.
A wrecker driver witnessed the entire incident and quickly pulled his vehicle in front of Bently's car to prevent him from going further, Baker said.
Bently was charged with DUI, reckless driving, hit and run, and driving on the wrong side of the road. He was taken to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on $4,371 bond.
