EMERSON, Ga. -- Bartow County investigators are seeking help identifying a person who died of an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Sheriff Clark Millsap is planning a news conference Monday where he will release new details about the investigation that started July 3 when skeletal remains were found near Emerson.

Millsap will make public a bust depicting the victim's facial features. The image was created by technicians at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Investigators hope the bust will help the public identify the unknown victim.

Warrant issued for man accused of making harassing phone calls

MARIETTA, Ga. -- Cobb County police are looking for a Marietta man accused of making harassing phone calls to victims across north Georgia.

A woman approached the Special Victims Unit on Sept. 9, saying she had received a number of sexually explicit phone calls from a man.

Investigators soon secured an arrest warrant in this case for 42-year-old Harold Aubrey Blasingame. Blasingame is also accused of making similar phone calls to women in Acworth, Waleska, Woodstock and Lumpkin County.

Anyone who thinks she has received harassing calls from Blasingame, or who knows the suspect's whereabouts, is asked to call police at 770-420-6671.

Several arrests made for gang graffiti, credit card theft

DALLAS, Ga. -- The Paulding County Sheriff's Office recently arrested a number of young people on charges ranging from criminal trespass to credit card fraud.

Potential gang graffiti was first reported to the sheriff's office in July. Detectives had no suspects or leads until they began conducting interviews and patrols, according to the sheriff's office.

Eventually, investigators arrested Austin Davis, 17, of Dallas and three 16-year-olds for creating the graffiti. All four suspects were charged with six counts of criminal trespass and one count of violation of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

In early August, the sheriff's office began investigating a case of credit card fraud at an Acworth Walmart.

CHEROKEE CO., Ga. -- Three teenagers were arrested Tuesday morning in Cherokee County on suspicion of stealing a car in North Carolina.

Authorities in Waynesville, N.C. notified Cherokee 911 that a cell phone in the stolen car had transmitted from a cell tower in Ball Ground, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

A sheriff's deputy soon spotted the stolen Jaguar on Interstate 575 south and pulled it over near the Bells Ferry off-ramp. Investigators determined that all three teens in the car were "willing participants in the joy ride" and were on their way to Florida, according to police.

The driver, 19-year-old Dustin Surrett, had outstanding warrants in Haywood County, N.C. He and a passenger, 17-year-old Tessa Upton, were charged with theft by receiving and booked into the Cherokee County Jail.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- Cobb police had their hands full investigating a fatality crash, robbery and unexplained death this weekend.

Around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, officers made an arrest in the Aug. 12 robbery of a Marietta Subway restaurant.

Norraze D. Hambrick, 20, was taken into custody without incident. Investigators said he pulled a knife on employees at the Subway on 1295 Powers Ferry Road and forced them to give him money from the register.

The Cobb County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call on Friday, saying that Hambrick was at the pool at the Signature Place apartments, not far from the Subway he reportedly robbed.

Sisters charged for robbing, kidnapping elderly man

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -- Bartow County Sheriff's officials have arrested two sisters in connection with the robbery and beating of a 79-year-old man.

Sheriff Clark Millsap said Joni Mae Earwood, 29, and Mindy Nicole Earwood, 26, both of Cartersville, picked up Arthur Smith from his Euharlee Road home on June 4. The sisters then drove him to Alford Road, where they assaulted, robbed and injured him before leaving him on the side of the road.

Both women were charged with battery, kidnapping and robbery. They were booked into the Bartow County Jail.

Police said it is possible that more people will be arrested and charged in this case.
