ACWORTH, Ga. -- From X Games gold medalists to world record holders, from national to world champions, all the top professional wakeboarders from across the planet are scheduled to hit the waters of Dallas Landing Park in Acworth.

The 20th season of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour will begin on Lake Allatoona from Thursday, May 19 to Saturday, May 21.

The Acworth tour stop will mark the Pro Tour's fifth appearance at Dallas Landing Park (5120 Allatoona Drive, 30101) in the last six years.

Throughout the three-day event, riders will compete in a series of elimination rounds by performing rail tricks and aerial stunts while being pulled on the water by the MasterCraft X-Star, the tour's official towboat, at a speed of approximately 25 miles per hour.

Tricks are scored by a panel of judges, with only the top-scoring athletes advancing in each round until a winner is determined in the finals on May 21.

Last year, the Pro Tour made a splash in front of a crowd of more than 8,000 people at Dallas Landing Park.

Teenage Australian phenom Harley Clifford took first place in 2010. Former world champion Rusty Malinoski also participated.

The 2011 Pro Tour opener promises to be even better with the addition of a Pro Women's division. The sport's top female rippers have not competed at Dallas Landing Park since 2008 and are looking forward to making an impact in Acworth during their return.

In addition to all the action in the water, fans on land will enjoy plenty of great food, autograph sessions, giveaways, interactive live music, product sampling and shopping at some of the top stores for water sports equipment, including boats, wakeboards, wakeskates and sunglasses.

Tickets are available at the gate. They are $13 for adults, $5 for kids (ages six to 12) and free for children under age five. If purchased online, adult tickets are only $7.
