However, the possibility of severe weather has organizers keeping their eyes on the sky.

The 27th annual Georgia Renaissance Festival is in full swing, and this weekend is bring-your-pet weekend. Admission is $19.95 for adults and $5 for dogs and cats. The festival is open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Fairburn.

The Sweetwater 420 Fest will celebrate its 8th year with activities, music, a 5K and plenty of Sweetwater beer. Festival organizers expect 40,000 people to attend through the weekend. The fun starts Friday at 4:20 p.m. and runs through Sunday. Admission is free, but drinking adults need a $5 wristband. The festival is held in Candler Park; organizers advise taking MARTA (Edgewood station), as parking is limited.

The granddaddy of Atlanta events -- the 76th annual Dogwood Festival -- will also be held this weekend. Its artists market, music and food will draw 200,000 people to Piedmont Park. The festival begins Friday at noon and runs through Sunday at 5 p.m.

The stage collapse that killed seven people at the 2011 Indiana State Fair has Dogwood Festival organizers re-thinking emergency plans. The festival's executive director told 11Alive they don't expect bad weather, but have a plan in place just in case.
