Company's relocation brings 100 jobs to Cobb County

COBB COUNTY -- Gelato and ice cream brand Talenti Gelato is opening a plant in Marietta that will bring 100 job openings to Cobb County and the state of Georgia.

The relocation of Talenti's primary production headquarters will begin later in 2012, according to Cobb County.

Talenti is carried by area food retailers including Kroger, Publix, Whole Foods Market, The Fresh Market, Target and Ingles. The gelato is all-natural, with ingredients sourced locally and from around the world.

"The Marietta Development Authority Board is pleased to have participated in encouraging Talenti Gelato to locate their production plant in Marietta in order to help create new jobs for our area and have this outstanding company become an important asset in our community," Ed Hammock, Chairman of the Marietta Development Authority said.

The City of Marietta, Cobb Chamber, CobbWorks, Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia QuickStart, Electric Cities of Georgia, Chattahoochee Technical College and Cobb Travel and Tourism are behind the project that is opening the Talenti plant.

Mayor of Marietta R. Steve Tumlin, Jr. said of Talenti, "Their significant investment in Marietta and Cobb County with their accompanying addition of 100 jobs will be an economic boost to our community."
