A busy weekend on the way in Atlanta | News
ATLANTA -- Atlanta will be the site of several entertainment options over the weekend.
Music Midtown 2012 takes over Piedmont Park on Friday and Saturday, with live performances on two stages. Some of the artists performing are Adam Ant, Foo Fighters, Ludacris, T.I., Girl Talk and Pearl Jam.
Tickets to Music Midtown can still be purchased online.
Some music fans may be debating whether to sell their football tickets, as UGA and Georgia Tech both play home football games this Saturday. UGA will take on Vanderbilt at Sanford Stadium at 7:45 p.m. Georgia Tech will host Miami, kick off is set for 3:30 p.m.
Not far outside of Atlanta, the North Georgia State Fair continues Marietta through September 30. This weekend is the first full weekend for the fair, and around 300,000 people are expected. There will be food, rides, entertainment and concerts. Sara Evans will take the stage on Wednesday, September 26.
The fair will be held on Jim R. Miller Park on Callaway Road.
For Atlanta's younger crowd, Cartoon Network is coming up on their 20th Birthday celebration. To prepare for their big day, Cartoon Network is creating a giant mural to with drawings of over 100 cartoon characters from their first 20 years of shows.
On Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at 275 Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW, all cartoon fans of all ages are invited to help color the large black-and-white drawing.
If anyone in Atlanta is working on their home, the Atlanta Home Show may be of interest. Held in the Cobb Galleria Center from noon to 6 p.m., the final days of the show will include guidance to many home improvement projects. Admission to the Atlanta Home Show is $10.
