CARTERSVILLE | Police investigate reports of more syringes at Walmart | News
CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (WXIA) -- Another Walmart shopper discovered a syringe in her shopping bag when she got home on Dec. 26. This was at the same Cartersville Walmart store where syringes were found in clothing in November and earlier in December.
Sgt. Jonathan Rogers of the Bartow County Sheriff's Department says the Walmart store has hired additional staff to go through the store's surveillance tapes as they try to find out who might have placed the syringes.
According to Rogers, tests on the syringes found previously indicate nothing harmful was in the syringes themselves.
Since Nov. 22, more than a dozen syringes have been found in clothing at the Cartersville Walmart store. In at least two of the cases, people have been stuck by the needles.
