Wakeboarders Hit Allatoona And Acworth

ACWORTH, GA  The pro wakeboard tour hit Allatoona Lake this weekend and that's a good thing for the town of Acworth.  It's the fifth time in six years the tour has stopped here and crowds have increased every time.

Organizers and city planners estimate last year's crowd at about 8,000 with more expected this time around for the competition that wraps up about dusk Saturday night.  "This is big for our business community" said Acworth Parks and Recreation Director James Albright.

While competitors are here from as far away as Australia and Thailand, local flavor is present too.  Sixteen year old Joey Buss of Cumming competes in the junior men's division and Corey Bradley of Gainesville has been on the pro tour and is making his wasy back on to the circuit this year.

The tour season wraps up in late summer in Knoxville.
