That's a "lotto" dough: Mega Millions surpasses $100 million

That's a "lotto" dough: Mega Millions surpasses $100 million

ATLANTA -- Georgia Lottery players have the opportunity to collect a hefty prize from Friday's Mega Millions drawing.

It only takes $1 to try for an estimated $113 million jackpot, which will go to a single annuity winner.

Any lucky Mega Millions player who matches all five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number could win about $4.3 million for 26 years or a single payment of approximately $82 million.

As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions benefit education in the state.

OSHA, MUST Ministries partnership to benefit those in need

OSHA, MUST Ministries partnership to benefit those in need

SMYRNA, Ga. -- A new Metro Atlanta alliance could possibly put several Georgians back to work before the end of the year.

On Sept. 26, representatives from MUST Ministries and the Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration signed an agreement to launch a new training program for out-of-work residents of Cherokee and Cobb counties. This is only the second such partnership that OSHA's Atlanta-West Area office has entered.

This alliance will create a 10-hour general workplace safety course related to seasonal jobs, including warehouse work and stocking. The course will be held Oct. 24-26; OSHA and Must Ministries plan to launch a similar course in February to focus on summertime construction jobs.

The goal of these courses is to provide the unemployed with access to training resources, according to OSHA area director Andre Richards.

ACWORTH, Ga. -- For people living in extreme poverty or recovering from natural disasters, a new pair of shoes can make a major difference.

Since 2005, Soles4Souls has distributed more than 15 million pairs of shoes to people in need. Their goods are donated by generous folks like the students, parents and staff of Cornerstone Preparatory Academy in Acworth.

Soles4Souls and Cornerstone Prep will work together to hold a two-day shoe collection for Cobb County residents in December. The charity believes partners like Cornerstone Prep will challenge others to become forces of change in their communities.

"We need partners like Cornerstone Prep Academy to get behind Soles4Souls.
